Out of all of our early human ancestors, during this unit we learned about Australopithecus Afarensis, Homo Habilis, Homo Erectus, Homo Sapiens Neanderthalensis, and Homo Sapiens Sapiens. Each hominid was more advanced than the ones which came before it. To begin with, Australopithecus Afarensis was the first hominid to be able to walk with two feets and stand upright which allowed them to walk upright like a human and travel. They are 3ft tall and live in Africa, they also live for about 2 million years.
After that, Homo Habilis came along. Homo Habilis was more advanced than Australopithecus Afarensis, and was able to build so many tools which allowed them to cut animals they found lying in the ground and dig dirts. They are about 4ft tall and have a bigger brain than the Australopithecus Afarensis.
Next came Homo Erectus. In addition to what Homo Habilis could do, Homo Erectus was able to stand up straight and they are able to travel for a long time which allowed them to travel to Asia, Europe, and Africa. They have a very thick skull and looks like a human because they also care for their privacy and they are the first who make fire. And I forgot to mention that they are 5 in a half feet tall.
After Homo Erectus came Homo Sapiens Neanderthalensis. They were able to farm and heal them self which allowed them to get foods and heal. They care of their people, everytime a Neanderthal died, they always do a funeral thing and give them tools and food for their afterlife. they live for about 23,000 years to 30,000 years.
Finally, along came Homo Sapiens Sapiens, or “Early Modern Man.” These advanced hominids were able to make a safer and better tools which allowed them to fish and hunt and they were the first Homonid who do paintings. Scientist thought that the paintings was for a religious occation and some scientist thought it was for some kind of journal.
